Why We Are Planting a Church in Conway, SC

Ask most people what they know about the South Carolina coast and they will say the beach. Fair enough. But behind the vacation photos, something bigger is happening.

The fastest growing county in America

Horry County was recently named the fastest growing county in the entire United States. About 350,000 people live here now, and roughly 50 more move in every single day. Families and retirees from the Northeast keep arriving, drawn by the lower cost of living. Conway is also home to about 12,000 college students from all over the Eastern U.S.

That is a lot of new neighbors. Most of them are starting over in a place where they do not know anyone yet.

New people need new churches

A transient, fast-growing region is exactly the kind of place where people are open to new relationships. Many of our future neighbors come from backgrounds with little or no Gospel conversation in their past. What they need first is not a program. It is a friend.

That is why our plan starts small: a core team moving to Conway, meeting neighbors and coworkers, and starting small groups around tables long before there is a Sunday service.

Where we are right now

The core team is moving and settling in this summer. Small groups begin in August 2026, and our targeted public launch is January 2027.

If you want to be part of a church before it exists, this is the moment. Partner with us or get in touch. We would love to talk.
